Tom began working in our yard today and was doing a good job of it and I was working in the house..........you know, the usual stuff, laundry, dishes, vacuuming and general picking up, etc. when Tom's mom called all frustrated because she had a bat hanging on the side of her garage in broad daylight. She was afraid he was going to fly into her house if she opened the door. Tom told her that bats don't like to fly in the day time as they are nocturnal creatures and then she got even more freaked out thinking that it probably had rabies if it was out during the daytime. Here is a picture of it before Tom knocked it off and killed it.

But once it was dead and buried, he noticed this big beautiful moth sitting on a flower pot near the front of the garage. I took a picture of it so that one follows also.

So that's our eventful Sunday afternoon............and we still didn't get the things accomplishments that we had wanted to do!

Gotta go for now, I'm falling asleep sitting in front of the computer and I have to get up @7:30 AM to get ready for work, hopefully I will get it done!

Part-time work?

I was scheduled to work all day Monday and Tuesday of this week and from 10:00AM to 1:00 PM Friday. I actually was going to be covering for a gal so she could take her ongoing training for her afternoon job. Well, when I got there Monday morning, there was in envelope in our transfer basket to go to corporate headquarters. The transfer envelope didn't have a name on it, so we opened it up to see of we could ascertain who it was meant for. The name on the small envelope inside was address to Jan.......the gal who does the hiring and places them with someone to train them. I called her and told her that there was an envelope for her and it looked as if a key were on the inside. She asked me to open it and it was the key. She had me check to see if it was the correct key to the entry door. When I confirmed that it was, I then told her about the letter in the envelope with her name on it too. She asked me to open that and read her the letter. I told her I wasn't comfortable doing that, but she repeated her request so I complied. It was a note of resignation for the morning gal. She also does the 3 hours on Friday too. You see, Terry did Monday and Tuesday mornings, I came in Monday and Tuesday afternoons and Katie was there all day Wednesday and Thursday and Terry covered the 3 hours on Friday. And when one of the people who job share quit, it places extra burdens on the other job sharers.

Tuesday a very nice gal came into the office asking if we were taking any applications. I spoke with her for a while and explained that we did have one open position and gave her a brief description of what the job entailed and the hours involved and that it was a job share position but needed to be flexible in order to be able to cover when the other gals needed the time off. She said it sounded like just what she was looking for. I gave her the name and number of the gal to call at corporate headquarters and took her name and number too. After she left, I called the gal at corporate headquarters and told her about this gal who was looking for work. Anyway, to make a long story short, the gal went in to interview on Thursday morning and was offered the position. She accepted and is supposed to begin her training on Monday at the office that I will be filling in at. I'm so excited and I really hopes she works out. She seems very pleasant and outgoing and eager to learn. I am keeping my fingers crossed on this one............I think she will do a good job! And I need to get someone to fill this spot so I can go back to part-time work!

# 19!

Those of you who have been reading here a while, know that my 2ND to the youngest son is engaged to be married. He is marrying a gal with 2 children, a girl 11 and a boy 8. Son has three children, a girl 13, a boy 6 and a girl 4 1/2. They will be blending these families into one. It is not easy and I speak from experience. Hub and I did the same thing 18 years ago. I brought 3 children and he brought 2 children, but with a lot of hard work, and it is hard work, we were able to blend everyone into one large group who truly love and care about each other. They are expecting their first baby together. Yes, I wish they had waited until they were married for this happening to occur, but it is what it is. and I don't feel that any baby is a mistake. She is due between the middle and end of October......the actual date is the 20Th, but we all know that babies have a way of showing up whenever they choose. The decision doesn't seem to be up to the carrier of the child unless a C-section is planned. Anyway, they now have 3D and 4D ultra-sounds of these babies in utero now. Following is one of the first photos of my newest grandson. My son was very proud to point out this important piece of equipment to me! As if, having had several children of my own and viewing many ultrasounds, I would not recognize it unless specifically pointed out to me. I acted properly impressed! However, I chose to show the picture of the baby's face......it is hard to recognize unless you are familiar with ultra-sounds. It is a profile and the baby is looking off to the left in the photo. You don't have to oh and ah over the photo. At this stage, they still are not very beautiful to look at. My feelings will not be hurt!
