What color is your brain?

Found this at a friends

Your Brain is Blue

Of all the brain types, yours is the most mellow.
You tend to be in a meditative state most of the time. You don't try to think away your troubles.
Your thoughts are realistic, fresh, and honest. You truly see things as how they are.

You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about your friends, your surroundings, and your life.

Happenings!

This photo is one of my son, Doug and his two youngest, Hunter and Boo(Harley) fishing last Sunday to complete the birthday weekend.

The next one is Drew waiting for the graduation ceremony to begin for his older brother Steve at the local high school football field. It seems Drew was much more interested in the birds flying overhead and having a snack than in watching the ceremony!

The last two are of the actual graduation. The first shows all 225 members of the graduating class standing right after they walked in to be introduced as the newest graduating class of the high school, and the next one is the actual photo of Steve receiving his diploma from the principal. Yeah Darkwing Duck!!!!!

Birthday Boy!

Hunter is getting all set to blow out his birthday candles! There are five of them.....he will be 5 on Monday the 21st. He and his sister Harley (nickname ~ Boo) came and spent the entire weekend with their daddy and us.

Today started out with a breakfast of waffles. Then Boo, Hunter and I made his birthday cake. After the cake was out of the oven, we all headed to the park to fly kites. It was a great day for this activity with just enough wind to keep them up.....Boo's was way up. She let go of it and off it went. It was a "Dora the Explorer" kite and Dora was off exploring! We watched it until it was no longer visible to the naked eye.

Hunter's kite was a "Spongebob/Patrick" kite. He asked me to take a picture of it so he could see what it looked like when he wasn't "working so hard to hang on to it!"

After kite flying, we returned home to lunch, singing "Happy Birthday", opening presents and playing with old and new toys. The old Fisher-Price toys in the background are the ones I saved from when my kids were little.

This is a remote controlled vehicle that he had been wanting! It says it can ride on grass, dirt, and even through water and it will float! After playing with it for several hours we now know that it is a 'battery eater'!

And these are the new fishing poles that both of them got. Normally, the other kids don't get presents on each others birthday; this year it is a little different since we are all taking them fishing tomorrow. They should be rested up by then after sitting by the bonfire tonight and falling asleep as soon as their little heads hit their pillows. Hunter helped to gather some wood and managed to roast a couple "arshmallows" (his word) too!

Spring Storms

It has started to rain and storm in the distance. The dog HATES the thunder! She would prefer that I close the entire house up tight and allow her to hide in the corner that she has chosen as 'her safe haven' during storms. It's not a bad thing. At least she no longer feels the need to sit in my lap as the storms roll through. She does require that I remain in the same room with her in fairly close proximity as her security. As long as she can see me and I am close enough to pat her on the head and tell her it's okay she does pretty well. And as long as we don't lose power during any of the storms, I don't mind since I can read or watch TV. It would be nice, though, if she learned to manage the noise on her own.......I'm sure that during the summer months with more frequent storms I will lose some shut eye!

And I love thunderstorms! The flashes the lightening makes as it sends it's electric feelers across the sky is so beautifully entrancing that it pulls me in and holds me captive until the storm has passed.

DREW!!

Wow, I can't believe that it's May already.

I have been very busy this week watching Drew. He is at that stage where he doesn't remain in one place for very long. It's not that he's naughty, he is just constantly on the go. I told hubby the other evening that I don't know how I use to do it with three of them in the house to chase all day long and still get everything done. He chuckled and replied, "Dear, you were at least 30 years younger back then"! Thanks for pointing out THAT fact!!!

These are pics of him sitting still, briefly! Isn't he adorable!
